I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but I wonder if it's possible to see if ZZ can stitch plans together into an overall drawing. This would be helpfull in doing large utility takeoffs. Below is what it looks like with one page, and you will continue to add sheets as you complete one.
Fun note! I threw that challenge to Togal, workpack and the person who invented assemble a few years ago. Actually got some legit working mockups from assemble and workpack. Also word on the street is another major PDF viewer is going to have this ability soon. Nothing like some competition!
challenge breeds innovation
Hi Rick, Thank you for submitting this request. Can I get a little clarification to ensure that it's clear to the development team when I send the feature request over to them?
It looks like your example has a large (colored) site plan, and then you've overlayed a page(with a transparent background) that has details for that portion of the site plan, correct?
If we add overlays and allow multiple overlays on the same page, do you think this would take care of what you're asking for?
On a similar note, the capability to stitch 2 pages together could be another request (In this case, neither page would have a transparent background like overlays have)
Just trying to clarify which (or both) of these you'd like to have added.
We typically get a nice overall project drawing like rick shows, but it has zero details, so you have to go to the mini pages to get the details. Here is how we do stitching to this day, as I made this in 2017 (Wow) LINK.
I wouldn't call it an overlay. You are taking a detailed page sheet and doing a two-point alignment. One point on the detail sheet matches that point to the same point on the overall sheet. Then you do the same for the second set of points. The description I shared only shows one sheet in the detail sheet because you can only show one detail sheet at a time.
Thank you for the additional clarification Rick & Kyle. This helps a lot. I'll send this request on to the development team.
