Hi Patrick. Good feedback. We're planning to have a "draw mode" of some kind where you can choose "point to point" or "box mode" for any of the tools: area, linear, etc. So once we add this ability, I think it would automatically work for cutouts.

Two customer requests that tie into box mod are having it provide the dimensions on the image. They want to use the X and Y dimensions to order windows. Having it save the window dimensions as the name could be helpful. A similar request for a national account requested having the 'subtract from area' tool do box mode. The request was 'When I'm doing a takeoff of the exterior surface material I want box mode or if it would just deduct the windows automatically for me and list them with their X and Y dimensions on the image as well as in reports' This was from a colleague of Kyle Bond.

Hey Patrick, we just released box mode. If you are in box mode, and you hold "CTRL" down, you can do a square cutout.

For Derek - what may be useful for one of those customers is using a count with the symbol square and using text with tags in the name to show the length & width, so that way they could have a count of the windows & know the sizes of windows. They could still use box mode with CTRL to do the cutouts, then come in with a count, etc. Various ways to do takeoffs with our latest updates.
