Exporting to Google Earth

Under Review

I use zzTakeoff for underground utility estimating and layout, and would like to request the ability to georeference a zzTakeoff project and export it directly to a format that can be imported into Google Earth, such as KML or GeoJSON (if there isn't a way already, I haven't found a way). I have been able to create a workaround by placing several points (counts) in zzTakeoff with known GPS coordinates, exporting the project JSON, and manually converting the data into a GeoJSON file, then import to Google Earth, but it just shows lines and dots in all 1 color...It would be nice if zzTakeoff could allow users to assign GPS coordinates to a project and then export pipes, structures, and other takeoff features to Google Earth compatible files. Ideally, the export would keep the feature types, colors, layers/folders, labels, and relevant info so that sanitary, storm, water, and other utilities can be easily distinguished when viewed over aerial imagery. It would be nice to visualize utility alignments in "real-world" on Goolge Earth if that's possible.

Hey Mark, thanks for the feature request! I'll pass this along to the team. In the meantime, you may be able to build a plugin/script (with Claude/ChatGPT) to automate the export process (it may even be able to help add multiple colors). Another user posted the beginnings of their plugin on a related feature request.
