Hi,
I am writing to kindly request an update on the progress regarding the upload of all takeoff properties, including formulas and complete assemblies from PlanSwift to zzTakeoff.
This functionality is highly anticipated by many of us, as it would significantly streamline our workflows by leveraging existing data and reducing redundant effort by re-building them into zzTakeoff. Moreover, it presents a valuable opportunity to cut costs by eliminating the need to maintain separate subscriptions for both PlanSwift and zzTakeoff.
Thank you for your continued support.
I would love this!
Hi Steve,
Thanks for reaching out about PlanSwift template imports! 🙌 This is definitely a feature that many users are eagerly waiting for, and I totally understand how valuable this would be for streamlining workflows and reducing subscription costs.
Here's the current status on this development:
Current Progress: 🔧 Our development team is actively working on building out the data structure for Items and Templates in zzTakeoff (which are equivalent to PlanSwift's "Parts" and "Assemblies"). This foundational work is essential before we can implement the comprehensive import functionality you're looking for.
Next Steps: 📈 Once this data structure is fully in place, our developers will be able to enhance the import process to achieve exactly what you're requesting - complete transfer of takeoff properties, formulas, and assemblies from PlanSwift to zzTakeoff.
Additional Benefits: ✨ This enhanced import capability will also enable much more comprehensive importing of existing PlanSwift jobs, making the migration process even smoother for users transitioning to zzTakeoff.
Current Resources: 📚 In the meantime, you might want to check out our PlanSwift Migration documentation which covers the current state of the import process: https://www.zztakeoff.com/app/community/documentation/planswift-migration
I'll make sure to forward your request to the development team to emphasize the importance of this feature!
Thanks for your patience as we work to build this out properly - it's going to be a game-changer once it's ready! 🚀
Status: Under Review ✅
Dear Sam,
Thank you very much for the advance notice regarding the upcoming update. I sincerely appreciate your diligence in keeping us informed, as this proactive communication allows me to anticipate the changes and plan accordingly. Your attention to detail and timely sharing of information demonstrate a high level of professionalism, for which I am truly grateful.
I am looking forward to seeing the completed update and am excited about the enhancements it will bring. Knowing that I’ve been kept in the loop reassures me that the process is being managed efficiently and thoughtfully, which helps me stay prepared to maximize the benefits once the update is implemented.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to provide this heads-up.
I greatly value your consideration and proactive approach.
Hello Sam,
Were there any further updates you could share on this feature? Could we expect it to be added soon?
Thank you!
Hi Ilyaas,
This is an incremental process. As every user sets up their Templates in PS differently, we need to address the imports to take care of the different edge cases.
If you can share with me your Template as a .swifttemplate with the essential properties you are seeking to import we will endeavour to close the gap.
There maybe circumstances where the difference in Architecture may make it difficult or impractical to do a one to one import and may require some manual adjustments.
Please email me your template to sam@zztakeoff.com and we will look at it and give you an honest assessment.
Hi Team,
We understand the current template import limitations as follows:
Could you please advise whether there is a firm timeline or roadmap for supporting the import of all PlanSwift formulas, parts, and assemblies?
Having clarity on this would greatly assist with planning template migration and estimating workflow decisions.
Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.
Hi Steve, did you get a chance to email your PlanSwift formulas, parts, and assemblies to sam@zztakeoff.com ? Sam can help answer what a full migration to zzTakeoff could look like for your specific needs.
