Heber,
I've been thinking more about the overlay feature. I'm sure it's complicated to impliment, but I think a functionality/fundamental change may be warranted in order to gain true efficiency. Overlays are meant to easily identify and quantify changes (obviously). Oftentimes we are inundated with a dozen addenda in the course of bidding alone. Having a way to import the new sheet, tie it to the old sheet, and retain/modify the original takeoff on the new sheet, would be ideal. Having the ability to turn on/off sheet revisions would also be phenomenal. The key would be to retain the take-off and eliminate the needed to copy and paste take-off to a new revision or to have take off of multiple sheets as that can get confusing. Something like a dropdown when several revisions apply would be a game changer for us. See Sheet C4.01 as an idea.
Chris, That is a fantastic idea!
ZZ team, hopefully this is available soon, I am getting sick of using Planswift only for overlays now! LOL
Good feedback. Thanks for the screenshot/mockup and all the input. We'll push as fast as we can go get overlays in here. 🙂
This is similar to what I have been saying: the takeoffs should be independent of the plan pages. See Takeoffs On Overlays Instead of Pages.
Make the “root” plan page a blank page (instead of the first version of a page) in the above example, and we are in business.
