Rows Customization in Reports

I was wondering if there was any way to be able to customize the "rows" when looking at my reports. There is a lot of customization features with the columns that allows you to change what you can and can't see. That same customization would be very helpful with the rows; such as being able to turn on and off certain layers in my reports so that I am only seeing the takeoffs and items from that specific layer and not any others.
