Is this what you are looking for? if you right Click on the plan, you can go to Hide all then select hide annotations. (You don't need to highlight them as I did in the video)

@Jeffery, I found a work around, if you click the outdated one and click overlay, you can overlay the new plan to the old. The colors will be backwards however, it still helps me to see what changed.
