I use a lot of linear with width takeoffs and having the ability to snap to the opposite side of the line would be extremely helpful. With the debug data turned on, i can see "points" along the edge so hopefully this wouldn't be too much of an ask. Thanks!

Hi Teddy, I am pretty sure you know this, but I usually feel the need to ask at my own embarrassment. Are you choosing which side of the line top draw and snap too?
In this case I am snapping to the right side and drawing to which ever side I start my takeoff on

Yes I am lol. I usually keep them all set to the Right side of the line but in almost all cases I will have other takeoffs on both sides of the line. So half of the time I have points to snap to. In the screenshot I uploaded, I plan to add an area takeoff on the North side of the blue line and a separate area takeoff on the South side of the green line.
Thanks for the input guys. Bryan K was also asking for this. We'll add to the list. Kind of cool seeing debug data enabled with all the calculations it does with the arcs, etc. 🙂
Awesome, thank you so much!
I was just asking support about this..... Giving it a bump.
I would also like to be able to snap to "counts" as well. For example, when I do a footing takeoff and/or a site concrete takeoff, and I specify that my count is 4'x4', I want to be able to snap my other takeoff item to those corners. I am OCD, and I don't like gaps or overlaps.

Can I also add that we be able to toggle the visibility of the "points" that can be snapped to? In our 3D programs (AGTEK/TBC) I can turn the points on or off, and it comes in handy. I would also like to see a "trace" function for the snapping. Again, in the 3D programs, I can use a hotkey or double click on one of those points, and my new "takeoff" area will snap to each point on that line. When I am done tracing, I click the last point and move from there.

We use AGTEK all the time and a snapping feature similar to AGTEK's would be incredible. Huge time saver.
I have noticed it only snaps to the side of the line you do the takeoff with and not the width side. Planswift allowed snapping on both sides and was awesome it also had red when a point was created and blue when you were in the middle of a line and not on a point that was created, both were very helpful

this side doesn't snap
