Custom Property = Compute

Just curious where everyone else is going with this?

I tested today with a "Qty Per" per count to calculate a quantity of widgets per count type.

At first, I created an on-the-fly (invoked) variable "[Units Per]" thinking maybe it would now populate with every new COUNT instance I created, but couldn't get that to work.

I'm curious if this is the intent or if anyone else has been successful???

After this, I defaulted to the 2 custom properties:

  • "Units Per Count" - Computed
  • "Qty Per" - Number (default = 4)

My testing was for a count of anchor bolts per steel embed/column.

Worked great! Not sure if I'm ready to go all-in yet but I like the BOLD # that can't be selected/edited.

Anyway, just wanted to see what everyone else is coming up with so far so I can get inspired...

So far, I'm using it to calculate SF of construction signs (Road Safety signs)

Then I made a report to give me the total SF for each one I count on the plan.

I agree, I like that you can't edit it.
