eGordian Catalog
My company has entered a JOC contract that requires all pricing to be based on the eGordian Catalog. I have been selecting the item and using the SKU for the catalog item number (copy & paste), then using the item description in the Description Field (copy & paste), and adding the price as a subcontractor. I label the item as [SKU] [Description] [Mark/ID] (custom property). Then I copy this and adjust the description to match the modifiers ie. .. Demo plus others. The problem I am facing is how to separate the various trades' SOW work. IN the sample below, the Drywall Sub Installs; the Demo Sub removes. LOOKING for ideas to set up custom properties to sort trades and trade suppliers.
question, is this something that is online or something that you have built? Where are you looking to split the trades up, in ZZ? Does the CSI # change based on Sub work and Company Work?
Why dont you setup a custom property called "bid package" and cross code as you go? Our template example below for our custom sort:

This is my takeoff by individual rooms in order to use the modifiers by room size and to provide backup to the quantity units.
Building built in 1975. Common restroom added at a later date; no documentation.
What if you took the items that are other department/companies work and put them in a different Layer?
Then when you print the report out of zz, set the report to "by Layer".
Would that work for what you are looking to do????
Question on the below. Did you copy paste your takeoff to the rest of this picture or is this a program that's merging it all together????

I have liked your posts and comments over the last 9 months that I have been using zzTakeoff, and I have helped me answer my question. I created a custom property, "Trade Source," drop-down list.
Shawn: The purpose of using individual takeoffs is to document the need for modifiers for small rooms (requires more cuts and drops) to the reviewers. But need to consolidate the totals to reduce the total number of items on the proposal estimate. The challenge is to find all the pieces within the catalog and associate them with an item of work. For example, wood blocking in the wall would be associated with a new mirror and needs to be a child of the mirror. The system does not allow me to solicit a subcontract quote and add the number to the total. So I am trying to set up a scope of work for a trade contractor based on our proposal. Our modifier to the estimated cost has to include any subcontractor markup, our general requirements, and OH&P, all based on the catalog cost of work.
👍1OHHHH. Perfect. you could add that to your report in zz and place it up top to sort by Trade Source!!!!!
Advanced Takeoff, then grouped by takeoff. add the column then drag it up top as the first item.
