Help with Item Name Variable

I was trying to create a new pipe bedding formula using [pipe size] as the common starting point for a simple formula calculating bedding. I noticed when I used [pipe size] I would get the red triangle error. We have all our pipe sizes named as 10" or 18". Seems like the " part is causing the error. Does this mean we need to rename all of our pipe sizes to 0.83 instead of 10"? In order to get a usable value for formula creation?

I think you need to take out the "

when you create a custom property you can use a dropdown (Value Name) that shows 10" but will use the number fraction. Let me know if you need any help getting there, in the meantime I have a video somewhere I will send over.

Do you want the 10" to be the qty or part of the name???

ohhh its going to deduct out the pipe from the bedding?

This is how I have my Flowable Fill set up. Different application but same idea. I put the " in with the name.

It does work without the ". We just setup all of our pipe sizes with the " on the end.

I tried all the different "gear icon" options when that menu popped up after adding [pipe size] and only one that worked was the formula one but I think that defeats the purpose of selecting a pipe size and using that in a formula for bedding. Mine currently I have to change the 2.00 in this case for each different pipe size. Also have to change the 0.75 each time. I was looking for a more automatic way for this due to all the different pipe sizes we run into. Plus this job has a weird bedding spec. 6" below and stops at top of pipe. Not the typical 6' to 12" above.

I have a plugin for this built for this . Once they open the plugin store I will add.

For flow fill I use the native backfill for the volume and change the product.
