We're adding a setting for you to choose default expanded level for the left sidebar.
Which setting do you think it should default to out of the box? I'm curious if you guys like it expanded to see the takeoffs under the pages most of the time or collapsed by default.

Side note: you can see the sidebar is collapsible also in these screenshots. This will come out in the upcoming release with templates, etc.

I usually keep my pages collapsed on the left panel because mine get real messy and jammed up with takeoff items since we can't really organize them on the left panel. The right panel is the one I usually use as my "takeoff palette for my paintbrush"
I do the same on the left side as Jes. I like it collapsed. I just like to see the pages.
Make that 3 of us. However I do organize my right side takeoff items by which scope they're a part of, so there is some collapsing and expanding of that side as well.
Thanks for all the comments. We will change the default so the pages do not expand when the project first loads, but you will be able to change the default based on your preference. This will come out in the next release. Thanks for all your patience, we're pushing hard to get this next release out. It has a ton of stuff in it.

would love to have the same structure as the right side on the left. If you have it setup on the right by a various WBS Sorts, it mirrors it on the left… I can see this working epic with the WBS fields that you are planning. For example if I have my templates all coded with bid package, then location it would mirror on left, pick the right side controls and the left side follows if you can’t go both ways. Can’t wait for the update!

@Kyle Just to clarify, if we had the right side grouped by Location, would you want the left to group by Page > Location (with page still as the root level items in the tree)? Any additional info will help make sure we do it right.
