Are you talking about clicking super fast? Like 4 clicks per second, then yes it does not register all those clicks, but not sure I would expect it to.

Try turning off Ortho on the bottom right of yoru screen. Seemed to fix it for me when I recreated the issue.

You can do as child items, but that imposes its own set of challenges that's not worth the reward.
