Export to Excel: Grouped by Page

Completed

The sub measurement get pulled as well, looks a bit cluttered

Is there a way to just have the total only. Also the Page is added to the item, is there a way to just have it as a header?

Example:

Hi Casey! πŸ‘‹

Thanks for bringing this up - I can see how the current export format with sub-measurements could look cluttered when you just want clean totals.

Your request for simpler Excel export formats has actually been suggested before! Check out this related feature request: Options to Export into Excel with simpler formats which is currently which is currently Planned for development.

I've forwarded your specific feedback about having page headers and totals-only options to our development team. They're always working on improving the export functionality! πŸ“Š

Your example format looks much cleaner and would definitely make the exported data easier to work with.

Thanks for the detailed screenshots and explanation - that really helps us understand exactly what you're looking for! ✨

Is there anything else about the export functionality that would make your workflow smoother?

OO man Sam, you are going to open up Pandora's Box with that question.

What else would make my life easier...where to start, where to start....I better just hold back a bit.

Well just for me....I put a formula on my excel to help with a naming format, so I can easily copy and paste it to QBE to do proposals.

Not sure its possible to have a pre-filled formula cell that can do it.

Haha! πŸ˜„ You're absolutely right Casey - that IS opening up Pandora's Box! But I love seeing how creative users get with their workflows.

Your Excel formula idea for creating proposal-ready descriptions is really clever! 🧠 Having a pre-filled formula column that automatically generates formatted text like "05. Demo/remove (E) flooring up to 5725 SF" would definitely streamline the proposal creation process. The Developers are currently working on the Architecture for spreadsheet integrations platform.

The next update coming soon will fix this, and will only export the relevant data based on the "Default Expand To" in the report options. If you're expanding the report to "Takeoff" level, it will summarize at that level in the export, and will exclude all the section details.
