Lasso Tool Improvement

The Lasso Tool is great until you need zoom or pan, as soon as you do the Lasso disappears.

It would be helpful to have a way to leave the Lasso in place as you zoom and pan around to select exactly what is needed. At the cost of more clicking - I would take it.
