Quantity Callout for Highlighted/Selected Areas

Planned

Can we have an ability to view quantities in a selected area on a page?

Sometimes we have multiple building phases shown on one page, and it would be helpful to view quantities in a select area of said page.

To be able to separate the takeoff counts by building phases after they have all been counted in a lump sum, would be very helpful after we are awarded projects.

Hi Shane. Thanks for the feature request here. So, if we allowed you to select a bunch of takeoff objects on the page and assign those to a Phase or Zone, I'm assuming that would solve what you're after? Currently using custom properties you could attach Phase or Zone to the overall takeoffs, but not each individual section yet, but we are planning to add that.

Thanks, Heber! Last week, I had a project with two phases. I didn't know I could separate the two in properties. I need to reach out to see the best way. Thank you.

I'd love to know more about how best to phase as well. This comes up often in u/g subdivision work

Shane, Have you tried creating folders and sub-folders with-in the Takeoff tab? I create scope folders within a certain dated planset and zz has the feature of turning off/on a particular folder with the "eye" icon.

Yes, we separate items as needed using the folders.

For example; when we count a specific item during the bidding phase it is usually all lump summed in one line item. The clients don't have us price out projects by phase.

After being awarded a project, we typically order material by phase, so we want a tool that can highlight selected items on the page and tell us what that quantity is.

On the screenshot below, I would want to know what the quantity of the green dots are on the right side of the street. (this is a small example, other projects could have 100s of items that need to be separated by phase)

You can also build custom reports that should be able to give you that info. You can see that I have mine sorted by pipe type and size so in the folder it provides me the total LF, you might be able to use this for a count as well.
