It will update on any new takeoffs but not change any takeoffs previously done to when you changed your list if I am not mistaken

i believe you can open the same job in a different window tab and move it to your second screen or split view then see the other page or report whatever your trying to see

I use the usage section and label all of them ie water material. Water labor. Water equipment on my items then you can pull a report by usage. It might be called usage type I am not on my computer ...

Try [../Parent Name/Qty] should work if it is complex or you can just insert the measurement you want to inherit if it is simple
